It's pretty rich premier clubs complaining about another league destroying the economic landscape and hurting other leagues.

the same clubs that objected to saudis buying newcastle gladly sold players for massively inflated prices to balance ffp - blatant hypocrisy

This Simon guy is so bias.. Chelsea is doing more damage to transfer windows than the Saudi clubs but will not say that.. He has something against arab owners

Isn't Simon always the first person to say something is worth what the BUYER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT?
So now Simon claims Saudi is over-inflating players values? Ah..the classic convenience chair capitalist. All for market economics when it works for him, but as soon as it doesn't then we need to reign in "unsustainable" spending. Simon, pick a side.

The next big issue will be American owned clubs, all it will take is 11 American owned team in The Premier League for them vote on having FA Finals in America and removing Relegation, that will ruin The Premier League.

FFP is there to regulate clubs spending, right? so it doesn’t matter if certain clubs are state owned or not coz all of them are governed by the same FFP rules… or am i missing something?

The problem is not who owns the Club, Its the Financial rules and laws of your " Super League " they are made to be bent and there is multiple ways to go around them, Govt or Groups or even individuals that doesn't matter, if they have the money and funds they will do whatever they want ...

I bet if the UK firms had the money the Middle East has access to the discourse would be very different.

🙋‍♀️ Why England cry against Chinese companies that r subsidized by Chinese government, while welcoming the arms of saudi, UAE & Qatar governments to simply own their local clubs & destroy fair competition?

Why not just stop any private ownership of any club? Corporate ownership or Nation state ownership. What is the difference between the two?

But owners like the glazers bleeding the club for it's resources and putting it into more debt are fine

Wouldn’t be fair to impose that law now. City and Newcastle have already been bought. Can’t just close it now without making those 2 relinquish their owners, which I don’t see how you do, outside of prohibiting them from competing in the league while the owners in question are still in situ.

Simon talking about who should own a football club 😂 If you've bankrupt a football club you should keep your mouth shut.

Just put a cap on spending, wages and transfer fees. That's how you fix football.

A bit too late unless you advocate for a reversal of the rest

🤢🤢🤮 Disgusting Hypocrisy 🤢🤢🤮
UK & EU politicians cry 🇨🇳 China 🇨🇳 subsidies for their companies as unfair, while allowing the arms of Saudi, UAE & Qatar governments to own their local clubs & destroy the fair competition within their leagues🤦‍♀️

Screw that, as a Spurs supporter I’d welcome an oil rich nation state buying us.

You can't stop now. It's unfair on others. You should let City and Newcastle be sold first and I'm not a Man Utd supporter. Also what's the difference between state ownership and billionair ownership? Both of them do whatever the hell they want. If anything the most radical ownership is Todd Boehly's.

Epl as a league generates lot as well as the clubs individually every season. I don't think these rich owners like that are at Newcastle, man City, Chelsea are actually needed. Aston villa, Nottingham they don't have state owners but still they have signed lot of players
