Steve Cooper went from relegation to winning the championship play offs in less than a season, and ended up getting sacked anyway. Take the opportunity when it comes

Graham Potter proved that being a great coach isnt enough. I thought Pochettino had just got the team in gear they were looking dangerous

Maresca owes Leicester because they gave him his first job and he had the best team in the championship as for Mckenna he doesn't owe Ipswich because he wasn't expected to get promoted and he did. He however owes it to himself to prove he can keep Ipswich in the league with limited budget which will also increase his value as a manager, just look at Alonso.

So if McKenna does a decent job with Ipswich next season is Simon saying there’ll be bigger jobs than United and Chelsea available to him?

Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson both left Ipswich but only after years of loyal service and only to manage England. I contend they were both legendary managers and even greater than what McKenna is at the moment. McKenna should test himself with Ipswich in the Premiership before leaving at the first opportunity for clubs that won’t afford him any loyalty without success.

Of course Mckenna was already a coach at Man United under Ole, and as I recall was ripped apart by fans and pundits for not being good enough/best in class and was hounded out of the club. He'd be mad to go back

Ipswich are not exactly a small club like everyone says they are.
The board at Ipswich will not get in the way of transfers unlike Chelsea and Man United.
Thank you Simon for noticing Ipswich are not a small club.
McKenna owes us Respect if nothing else apparently he has been talking with Chelsea longer than he would have us all believe it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth but sadly money always talks.

Comparing Mckenna and Moresca to Amorim is ridiculous. Does he also forget clubs like Sporting, Benfica and Porto play in the Champions League?

Simon nailed it 100% 👏👏 McKenna has a chance to make history, but it looks like he might jump ship at the first opportunity, despite professing his adoration and love for Town two short weeks ago. I hope I’m wrong but not only will he have completed a double promotion in record time but if he leaves he’ll be demoted from hero to zero even quicker.

Arteta had no managerial experience, Arsenal went for him and he's doing well, so why couldn't McKenna, he's probably further down the managerial line than Arteta was?

why shouldn't they go, if Ipswich or Leicester are in the bottom 3 after christmas their is a pretty high chance they'll be sacked, loyalty goes both ways

Simon is right...Owners still have to pay severence after firing a manager. Potter still living off Chelsea fees and he can for the rest of his life if he wanted to

Totally agree Chelsea and United will ruin any young manager with potential

As an Ipswich fan, it’s frustrating that we are likely to have our manager poached before we even have a crack at the top table with him at the helm.

I have faith that Mark Ashton and the ownership have been succession planning for a while but either way it harms our chances next season before we even kick a ball.

I’m a Chelsea fan and out of decency for these two guys would urge them not to

Potter is a good example. Jumping at the first opportunity. Not always the right move. 😊😊😊😊

Yes Simon!!! If McKenna leaves Ipswich he will be making a foolish foolish mistake!! Keep what you have with Ipswich. Ply your trade with Ipswich, get better and better and better as a manager then move elsewhere. Cooper and Potter are utter fools for what they did. Kieran has something magical at Ipswich, if he carries on, Ipswich will become a stable prem club like Bournemouth, like Brentford. Please stay Kieran!!

Ten Hag may as well stay, doesn't matter who takes the job, it's a poisoned chalice until they get rid of the wasters, sorry, players.
