What an absurd talking point, tax cuts for the rich and the economy crashing and you're finding positives for the PL. Embarrassing whoever thought of this segment.

You're right Simon, this extra money the super rich get will go straight into the economy... Of the Cayman Islands

From a German POV: This doesn't make sense the Prem is already by far the most attractive league in the World, god knows the UK doesn't need to give tax credits to wealthy people or the Premier League or their players. Player salaries in the Prem are already 2-3x higher than in Germany, Spain, Italy or France so ''this is where you wanna come because this is where you get the top money'' was already the case before.
There are apparently 515 Prem players, so 240k average tax cut would mean we talk about a total tax cut for Prem players of 123.6m GBP. From what i know about this topic this mini-budget will harm the majority of people in the UK directly or indirectly.

Simon Jordan speaking up for the top 1% is the most predictably disgusting thing I've heard today.

How dare the Government reduce taxes to companies (corporation tax is EVERY vat registered company NOT just Amazon / Google etc) and individuals.

I'm sure we all wish Taxes were going up. Not like everything costs more. We want to pay extra tax too !

Jordan arguing trickle down economics ffs. Showing his true colours here.

He also wants salaries caps but doesn’t say where the remaining money would go. Here’s the answer - owners like he was. Surprise surprise

No? And even if it did, it doesn't make it any better - a disastrous budget fitting for a disastrous government

To put the 329 players under investigation by HMRC in context, thats 29 starting XI’s… madness!

Simon, rich people who earn millions will hardly spend more just because of a rise. It’s the poorest people who will spend most, if not all of any increases in their incomes which would actually benefit the economy. And the idea of trickle down economics has long been discredited.

Has football really become THIS Important to the English?
The top players already make enough money as it is, why are you advocating them to be taxed less? Just to outcompete other leagues? The gap between rich earners is widening each year and you want to facilitate this even more. Crazy.

its ridiculous. people cant pay their bills and the rich gets tax cuts

Meanwhile the working class spend a lot of their money on watching these very rich footballers kick a leather ball around a perfectly manicured pitch. Something is badly wrong in society. There should be a wage cap on players.

Simon if the top 5% makes the bulk of the money, who should pay the bulk of the taxes?

This is so deluded - we all know that every premier league footballer has their finances set up like Marcus Rashford - they set up a ltd company abroad - they are paid through that company. The player then receives a 'loan' from that company - this loan is tax free as it is not classed as income. Marcus Rashford paid less tax and NI than someone on minimum wage last year because of these type of arrangements.

Of course the first thing Truss did was tax breaks for the rich. This may help wealthy footballers but it doesn't help the vast majority of fans, nor will it improve the spectacle
2:20 No Simon we don't 'all know that the top 1% pay the bulk of the tax in this country', they pay one third of income tax revenue, but don't let facts get in the way of your defense of an undeserved and unwarranted tax cut for the rich before you head home to Mount Trickledown

While it is true that the 1% pay the most tax, a large amount of their income is provided in derivative underpaid hours by their staff, or budget compromise, because of their hefty wage. So they aren't really 'earning' as such, they certainly put in the work to be a high net worth individual, but they don't actually earn the money they earn it from derivatives of others work, this is why we tax them more. If my tech and clothing companies made 3 million quid a year, then I should be taxed fairly and be regulated to pay staff a decent wage, but not given an unnecessary tax cut!

And football fans are ripped off with ticket prices. The premier league best in the world? Only the lure of money draws footballers to the premier league. What's the point of taxes agents, footballers and clever tax avoidence ensures footballers never lose any money.
