I shoot mostly in manual mode. I have an X-T3. It's my first camera since I had a Ricoh X-RP back in the 80s. The past three years I've just used my PIxel 2 XL (which I still am using!). I was so nice having the dials on top and an aperture ring to use because it was just like using that old SLR. Lately, I've been experimenting with an old Canon FD 50mm lens. It's a lot of fun. And, I've also played a bit with aperture priority mode so I could concentrate on composition and manual focus. Right now I only have the XF 18-55mm from Fuji. But, I hope to pick up a prime some day. Probably an f2 prime. The faster primes are not in my budget right now. Good quick rundown video Reggie! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My one nitpick is that I think it's way better to focus and recompose rather than futzing with the joystick to select your focus point. Other than that this all checks out with me!

Great video, watched through to the end even though I've used fuji for a while now. Came here because I assumed you'd have what I was looking for in this settings vid and if you'd be able to help me out. I'm putting together a dummy sheet for people at work to follow for product photos while I'm away and I need to put in shoos of the camera menus and where to find settings/what they look like etc.

I was wondering how it is you have the menu so clear at 0:22 and can record moving through the menus. Is it done by plugging in the camera to your computer or is it as simple as setting up a camera to record the physical camera and cropping the recording to just the border of the screen?

Why average and not multi? I usually use manual but when metering I'm using spot. Is the average safer than multi when you're in semi-auto modes?
