As a beginner the three dials makes so much more sense than the PASM wheel - you just shoot in auto and if you need to change anything, you change it! No weird extra PASM step.

My advice for fujifilm users on a budget. Buy used gear! The build quality on Fuji lenses and cameras are top notch and will last forever. I was able to save about 30-50% on my entire kit buying off eBay!

I've been using the X-T4 for over a year now and your videos still teach me something about how it works

Been shooting Fuji since the X100 so over 10 years and I can say it's definitely safe to shoot above 3200 safely. I limit my auto ISO to 6400 and I get excellent results. I have film simulations I run at 12800 and get what looks like grain so bump up the ISO to whatever you need, the camera can handle it.

My X-T4 just showed up this week, and I couldn't be more excited. It's my first foray into Fuji cameras (and mirrorless for that matter), and you were the single most influential factor in my decision to make the purchase and venture outside the Canon realm. Your review and setup videos (this one included) have already been incredibly helpful as I wrap my head around a new system; thanks for all your efforts!

Having started my photographic journey back in 1969 on the Nikon F coming to Fuji, was like returning back to the days of film in many respects. I love being able to see the shutter speed, the ASA dial, and the F stops all at a glance. And yes, the JPEG’s are fantastic. I’m at wedding photographer and I never shoot in raw since coming over to Fuji. My first Fuji was an X 100 when it came out and I have not looked back.

After shooting a few different brands, what I can say about Fuji (and most brands) is don't expect one camera to be a do-all camera. Most cameras can't do everything and do it well, so they usually have their pros/cons. For Fuji, I find the quality and manual controls and image quality to be its biggest selling points, and what really draws me to them. They maybe aren't the fastest cameras or the most modern looking, but I think that's part of the appeal (the aesthetics). When ever I find myself looking at a potential new camera, I constantly find myself drawn to the Fuji cameras and if money allowed it, I would certainly go back and pick up an XT30 again and a few lenses. The experience of shooting a Fuji camera is a bit different than other cameras, partially because of the manual dials and aperture rings on the lenses, something we lost with many DSLRs and modern ML cameras from companies like Nikon, Sony and Canon (although Nikon does have the Zfc, but still not the same as a Fuji; it looks the part, but functionally and handling-wise, I still think the fuji is better).

When I bought my X-T30 & X-T3, my mind was blown by the ability of these cameras. Two years on and I’m still learning new ways to utilise them both and your videos like this have been invaluable, thank you for putting it out there. I’m sure I’m not the only one to have learnt a lot from your videos and are now a much better photographer or in my case, actually becoming a professional photographer! All the best pal2tech

As someone who switched from an entry-level canon camera to an X-T5, I find your videos very helpful. Thx for the awesome content!

I'm thinking about a Fujifilm as my first "real" camera. I'm looking at the XT-4 and the more I research it the more excited I get. This video has been SUPER helpful!! I will be coming back to watch this again when/if I get the XT-4

I've had my X100F for a few years. Had no idea about the MY Menu feature. I instantly added a few that I hated digging in the menu for. Thanks a bunch!
I would add that the Auto ISO functionality is great. I assigned AUTO1 for daylight, AUTO2 for golden hour, and AUTO3 for lowlight/indoors. Then assigned the auto ISO setting to the right menu button. This make shooting in AP mode very fun.

Great tips and love how you jump out of the chair with enthusiasm 😁

To newbies… the smaller grip takes some getting used to. Now I feel 100% secure with it.
I jumped he gun on a hand grip, but it now sits in the drawer unless I’m taking a tripod with me

What i wished i knew earlier, was the function "preview exposer in manual mode (on/off/wb)". In macrophotography it would have saved me alot of problems as it gets very dark very fast in macro, because you use a certain ISO + flash. You need to be able to see to focus, but sometimes you cannot see through the viewfinder because of this function... Disabled, it gives you the best image possible trough the viewfinder.
