This is a terrifying disease. Not only because of its prognosis once symptoms are present, but because it can make you afraid of trying to drink water. Imagine being so thirsty, yet incapable of approaching a drink of water without your throat constricting compulsively. Of course you would become afraid to even see water because you want it so bad yet your body refuses to take it.

I hope there’s an equally great explanation video regarding aero phobia and the early sense of impending doom that also typify rabies! I’ve often wondered if the brain’s unconscious levels are aware of being under threat well before the individual understands he has rabies.
