I've attended a grand total of three meets/shows. One was a requirement before a track day. The second was a local meet where I naively thought I'd meet other carguys. Instead, I ended up talking to a young gent with a chandalere in his old Lexus. The third was an annual national event that surprisingly we were invited to attend. To give an idea as to the attendees, were talking AC Cobras, Cords, two Ferrari 250s... that sort of thing. They'd never had a car like the Evolution on display; we were placed in the front row. There's a lot to talk about regarding that event, but I'll just say that it was one of the highlights of my existence on this planet.

Running a car show sucks, it takes all the fun out of it. I’ve ran 1 and will never do it again! My club was a 501C3 so we got nothing out of it but the satisfaction of helping other vets but it was a pain in the ass.

My club is currently cooperators in hosting a big monthly meet in Orlando. They are wanting to start their own meets here in the next few months and eventually do shows as well. Hopefully they do about 1-2 years of meets and get a bit bigger for a show.

You guys should really come down to Florida for a show at some point, though.
