I just hate when they want a new seat outside of the one assigned to them. Not only do they mess up the rotation, they mess up the servers. Servers give us so much attitude when we’re just trying to do our best. It’s nasty stuff

Last week I started my first day as a hostess at IHOP on a sunday morning. There was literally zero training and I was just told that I was needed at the front. I had to ask the waitresses for how to do my job and once I got it, my managers were crazy impressed that on their busiest day and time of the week, I was doing amazing over at the host pedestal by myself. I always made sure everyone was accounted for and even earned tips just by hosting. Everyone was so impressed since they've never heard of a host getting a tip by only doing the pedestal.

I got like 30 min of training at Chili’s, and i was left alone, I didn’t know how to do anything, im on my third week and I kinda hate it lol but thank you, I learned a lot hopefully this helps me hate it less

I started recently and literally the part that scares me is accidentally overwhelming the servers because sometimes we get so many people and i have to double seat some servers and some obviously dont like it and I feel like they hate me for it 😭

I have a hostess interview at Flemmings tomorrow and I’m so excited!!! Currently doing a lil research/brushing up via YouTube.

Recently had a breakup, so I’m picking up a second job. I know serving pays well, but it’s also a LOT of work (after my day job) and a lot of late nights.
I need an easy job with fixed hours and consistent pay. The nice thing about this brand is that it’s corporate, and I’m currently a Tourism+Hospitality major. My hope is that it will be a fast track to management.
