I notice that usually the people who say things like "Grey hair is beautiful" are the ones who don't have any.

I’m a radiologist and I started a night job about 6 months ago. Not only did my face look much older very fast and I got depressed, my hair went white too! Needless to say, I’ve already put in my resignation and will be out of this job in the summer. Money ain’t worth hits to health!

I had a bunch of gray in my early 30's when I was working excessively, and struggling financially. I'm in my 40's now, with a good job and no debt. My hair color has restored itself. No pills needed. You just need to remove stress from you life. Not always an easy thing, I know.

My beautiful kind mother who we lost last year at age 88 had a full head of hair with its original dark brown color with only a few stands of gray. She never colored it since it just never turned grey. She was a lifelong vegetarian. None sure if that made any difference. She was a remarkable woman. Love and miss you Mom ❤️

I have definitely personally seen gray hair get reversed. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer, I started getting a ton of grey hairs. I was only 41. I was so worried about her. After treatment, she entered remission. The cessation of the stress led to my gray hair slowly going away.

My sister-in-law had black hair, even though she was born blonde. By the time she was 24, she had her first grey hairs. By the time she was thirty, she colored it. Eventually, she got tired of it and just let it go fully grey—and it was beautiful, very silvery and sparkly! She has lovely pink undertones in her skin, sky blue eyes and a young, smooth face for her age (66). I think she looks just beautiful!

Hello, I’m 61 and have decided it’s time to let my gray come in. I have talked it over with my hairdresser and it’s going to be a journey about a year with her help. We started last month lightning my color up. I just can’t justify anymore paying $185+ tip every six weeks. It’s time to let what God had given me to come in! 😊

My mother had almost black hair all her life and started going gray in her 40's. She dyed it dark for decades. Once she turned 70, which is when the pandemic hit, she let her hair grow out fully gray. She's never had more compliments about her hair in her whole life. It looks incredible on her. She now says she would've let it go gray decades ago had she knew how nice it would look.

My dad drank 2oz of aloe vera juice every night and reversed his gray hair back to dark brown within 6mos.

I decided not to fight the gray. Love the bright, glittery strands now!! Feels amazing and freeing.

I'm half gray now because I stopped dying my hair almost 2 years ago now. I actually enjoy the white highlights in my hair and at age 59 was ready to give up the chemicals. I do have chronic iron deficient issues. Many people think women are "letting themselves go" when they decide to let their hair be natural but I actually think the opposite. By not slathering on hair dye chemicals I think we are taking better care of ourselves. The best thing I noticed is that within 5 months my hair thinning stopped and I started growing in hair in my temples and got thicker hair after not dying.

I have had this personally happen to me “ I was in a high stress situation and also dealing with gut issues and candida overgrowth . I had a huge gray area and it was cool looking at the time, but I knew my health was at risk, I stopped eating carbs and gluten and added some probiotics and also started eating organ meat and Amla caps my hair was coming back in black at the root ! My daughter was astonished, also low levels of copper can cause hair to gray . But I do think all these gray haired beauties are fabulous!!!

I've seen ads here on Youtube for products that claim to 'reverse' gray hair. I used to color my hair, for many years in fact. During the beginning of lockdown, I decided to stop and let my natural color (gray and all) grow out. My hair is also naturally very dry/curly so discontinuing hair coloring was a good decision. My hair is in much better condition now and suffers less tangling. I feel freed from chasing that line of demarcation every 6 weeks! I also use a purple shampoo & conditioner every couple of weeks to brighten up the silver strands. 🙂

I freed my grey at 62 and LOVE it. I am a ginger and my grey is kind of a natural blondish-greyish balyage vibe. I let it grow during the lockdown, got a great layered cut and it's wonderful (if I say so myself). ❤

Oh Lord please give me good news Dr. Dray 😭! My mom and dad are both gray and it happened in their early 20’s. I’m 35 now and it’s getting OUT OF CONTROL! It’s depressing 😩! Going every 6 weeks for root coverage isn’t even soon enough.. they’re back in like the second week 😭😭😭😭😭!!! I have black hair so it’s so obvious and not hidden as well as someone who has blonde hair. I’m already self-conscious with getting older, and the gray hair doesn’t help.. it just makes me feel worse. I’m severely anemic and I had to have a hysterectomy five weeks ago.. so I’m hoping, praying, and wishing that once my iron levels goes back to normal hopefully it’ll help my hair 😅!

I LOVE GRAY HAIR! I’m 43 and I stopped dying and highlighting my hair in 2017. I’ve barely gotten any grays. It’s really annoying. I’m just happy I HAVE hair 💜💜💜

I’ll be 50 in 3 weeks and embraced my natural gray/white hair just over a year ago and couldn’t be happier. After dyeing it since I was 14 it’s a welcomed change. It’s softer thicker and just more beautiful than ever and the compliments keep coming

Hi Dr.Dray, in India, women apply mehendi or henna ( a natural dye ) to their hair to cover grey hair or to get shiny hair. Mehendi is made of natural herbs and you can make it yourself or buy it. After applying it, you get a nice brown colour. Henna is believed to be very beneficial for hair due to its anti fungal properties.

Genetics: My father's mother had only a few grays at 72. My father had black hair through his mid 80's. It took his late 80's before he had more gray than black. He passed at 90 and still had some black hair. My Mom also had her brown hair through her 80's and passed at age 90 with more brown than gray. They lived through the Great Depression and WWII. My Dad was a disabled Vet from WWII. He had a chronic lung condition from untreated pneumonia developed during the war.He always looked younger than his age. Dad had Italian background and Mom Irish. Mom had trauma of being orphaned as a child and her brother killed at age 19 in WWII and her step dad drowning and her step mom widowed. Dad easy going/ Mom more high strung. Both loving and family oriented. My brother and I are in our 70's and both have some gray. Just anecdotal. All colors are beautiful! Thanks Doctor! Love all your information!

My dad started taking astaxanthin supplements which are antioxidants and completely unexpectedly his gray hair began to turn dark again all over his whole head. When he stops taking those supplements his hair went back to gray. When he started taking them again it started to turn dark again. That was definitely surprising but undeniable unintended results
