How everyday life has changed in Wuhan - BBC News

For many people in Wuhan, life has changed forever since the first cases of Covid-19 were reported in the Chinese mega-city a year ago.

But while the rest of the world is still battling a second wave of infections, the city hasn’t had any locally transmitted cases for months.

So how has Wuhan changed, and what’s life like for ordinary people living in the initial centre of the pandemic?

Is it just me or are you guys using some kind of filter to make the colours in this video look old and give us a sense of the city looking poor?

When filming and reporting China, BBC must use a grey filter.

Every single time when I tried to go through some news about China from the BBC, I'll find the adjustments on the film is disgusting af.

Depressing filter, weird lens adjustments (fortunately not very weird in this vid), don't really have an idea why BBC gonna do this on every single vid. Even when they want to objectively report some positive news(well, quite rarely tbh)

I know BBC wants to keep propagating the stereotype of the Chinese government all the time for some weird, unreasonable but irresistible political objectives. I won't comment on that since that is part of BBC'S job as a western press (although BBC was supposed to be independent, neutral, and dare to be objective even if it means to be against their government). I just want these vids to be objective (seriously) when they are trying to show, or at least pretending to show some positive parts of China, without those adjustments on the screen. Or don't you think this will make the native viewers starting to think why Chinese people are possible to be happy when it's that dark all the time like in these vids?

I know the western government doesn't want its people to start thinking, I'm literally trying to help lol.

Quite being offtopic, but as far as I was informed, from my relatives who live on the mainland. Things were back to normal like three or four months ago, some of my Wuhan friends said they could do literally anything they want to or need to just like days before the outbreak atm. No question is needed on the real situations of the mainland, and its pretty much clear that the BBC also realized this too. I think that's how we got this vid here, although still with depressing filters. Quite satisfying to see BBC starts to be (or at least pretending to be) objective on China topics again. Well for myself, gonna still waiting for the vaccine from NHS, or I'm gonna still living under the shadow of the COVID.

16:17 "I'm not worried about a second wave happening in China". Must be nice. I'm concerned about a potential fifth wave here in the United States.

HIV, Mad Cow disease, swine flu all came from somewhere. We learn and adapt. All I can say is that the UK government failed us, due to greed, incompetence, ego of politicians.

Believe in what you believe in the west. We Chinese don’t care about whether you blame us or not we just keep moving forward

See how the reporting standard goes through the roof when BBC outsource their productions to 3rd party?

A nice showcase for BBC's 'grave filter'.

Grey filter that makes every clip look dirty. This is the BBC taste. Always.

This is an upgrade compared to the usual BBC reporting, but what's up with the filter.

This is a very good filter, which help them to articulate things whatever they want. I stayed in Wuhan for at least two decades, but they filmed the city like hell. But that's normal, all BBC documentaries film places they dislike using that hell filter.

Whatever the ruling party is, no one can deny that the normal Chinese individuals are hard-working& kind-hearted. It's not about discrimination. it is about the respect about equal mankind making up 1/5 of ur human beings.
