This isn't a huge secret but something worth pointing out is that all of the guards in Honor Hold are all aged from having been stationed in Outland for so long. If you look at them you will notice that they all have white hair and aged faces. I thought that was another really cool world building/flavor thing for Blizzard to do. I never noticed before until coming back to TBC classic and it was pointed out to me.

The CM story is really relevant even today, in the shitpost, dox, and swating era. I really enjoy those small bits and pieces stories about small things not a lot of people would research :)

The Jar of Ashes hits differently in a post-lawsuit world.

I mean, Tseric wasn't wrong and he's still right.

Another thing to add is that the guards in Honor Hold are all old and gray haired because they've been trapped on Outland for 20 years.

Holy crap, that message from that CM really hits hard.

For what it is worth. I remember the people over at quality control in the eu blizz branch in france talk about Tseric and even they didn't really know what happened. Afair, he left on his own officially but he may have been "helped" in his dicision making process.

His actions did spark quite the conversation in the offices though. And even back then the general view of players that would frequent the ticketing system was not very positive amongst the GM's. As many of the sensible or sane folk that needed assistance in the game wouldn't directly reach out to customer services but rather ask fellow players or consult the web prior to opening a ticket or angrily post on the forums. So the consistent interaction with players was a rather vocal or typical type of player that heavily skewed the view of our playerbase we met and assisted on a daily basis.

Incidentaly also one of the biggest reasons why I left. I wanted to help people in the game, not deal with a holes all day.

This is by far my favorite series of videos of yours, they're always so well done and surprisingly always have at least one or two things I didn't actually know about wow. Most videos presented to be hidden things in wow are like.. always on the same top 10 lists from the last decade haha.

Wonderful job, dude.

I expect a note about John Lionhearted's grave in Honor Hold. Such a legend.

The CM segment was just sad eye opening with the parallels it draws up to this day.

Tseric hit the nail on the head, and it's even more true now than ever.

So fascinating...a game I played 14 years ago...in Outland which I plaxed through at least 1000 times...with so obvious things like the guy at the graveyard...and I never noticed that.

that jar of ashes thing is kinda dark with all the blizzard news lately

I'm willing to bet that Jar of Ashes blurb was the result of a disgruntled programmer voicing his feelings of exploitation at the hands of higher ups, and hiding it in game somewhere. It's super poetic, honestly.

Teseric's rant is proof the WoW Community has always been trash.

Dude thank you for just being entertaining with these videos.

Nothing better than putting on your videos before a drive.

If I may suggest something for a future video segment over The Unknown Side of WoW: Tagar Spinebreaker.

Tagar Spinebreaker is a Fel Orc NPC that walks around the hills surrounding the Path of Glory in Hellfire Peninsula in Outland. He seems to be a random elite in Outland with no quests associated to him (that I know of) and simply seems to serve to annoy players leveling around the area as he's generally not worth killing because his item drops aren't very good.

Tagar's lore is that he's the Chieftain of the Bonechewer Clan in the main universe who was left behind on Outland when the Dark Portal closed. He was originally a normal Bonechewer Orc serving under the previous Chieftain named Hurkan Skullsplinter until he was killed by Grommash Hellscream to retrieve the Skull of Gul'dan. After Grom killed Hurkan he asked the Bonechewers who would step up to be the next Chieftain, and Tagar stepped forth. He accompanied Teron Gorefiend to Blackrock Mountain during the Second War to get the aid of Blackhand's sons, Rend and Maim but they refused, after this he witnessed Deathwing who helped them. He also accompanied Fenris the Hunter, Chieftain of the Thunderlords, to the Tomb of Sargeras to get the Jeweled Scepter of Sargeras for Ner'zhul, after this he returned to Draenor and the rest is history.

Tagar also has an alternate doppelganger who joined the Shadow Council in Warlords of Draenor. He accompanied Teron'gor into the Tomb of Lights but is killed by adventurers while defending him, he's the objective of the quest "Nightmare in the Tomb."
