👉 Learn how to solve multi-step equations with parenthesis and variable on both sides of the equation. An equation is a statement stating that two values are equal. A multi-step equation is an equation which can be solved by applying multiple steps of operations to get to the solution.

To solve a multi-step equation with parenthesis, we first use distribution property to remove the parenthesis, then we combine like terms by taking the variable terms to one side of the equality sign and the constant terms to the other side of the equation and evaluate them, and then we can isolate the variable by multiplying both sides by the reciprocal of the coefficient of the variable.
