LIVE: Motions Hearing - NM v. Alec Baldwin - Actor Alec Baldwin faces manslaughter charges after the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie '#Rust.' Opening statements are expected on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Baldwin has maintained that he pulled back the gun’s hammer but not the trigger and has pleaded not guilty. he faces the possibility of up to 18 months in prison if convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

So he clearly points the gun at the cinematographer, somehow pulls the trigger, the cinematographer ends up dead. . . but he's not responsible?

He drew the gun out multiple times in rehearsal and it didn’t fire. But then he pulled the trigger. He had handled guns many times before and has always been told to never point it at another person period.

Yes, it is hard to believe that they contend that no chain of command existed or was required in the employee safety protocol.

This judge just can't understand. If he was a producer he's running the show. He should know the safety rules. Take him to court twice then.

Mr Baldwins team is really trying hard to confuse the judge, about him being an actor or a producer when the fact is that he was BOTH - and was paid AS BOTH!! He is the head on set!!

Were their daily safety meetings required by senior management? Did the production team have a risk assessment plan and daily monitoring? Do you know if the safety and risk assessment logs are admissible in court? Filming adventure movies is fraught with dangers unique to the industry. Finally, what state laws were violated in the making of this film? Gun accidents are never accidents.

Dave Holz took a plea deal because he was also in charge of set safety. He is the one who handed the gun to Baldwin just prior to the accident.
