Alec Baldwin's Initial Reaction to Halyna Hutchins’ Death

Just-released video shows the moment Alec Baldwin learned cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died after being accidentally shot with a prop gun on the “Rust” set last October. “She didn’t make it,” a deputy sheriff tells the actor. A stunned Baldwin froze for 24 seconds. The detective told him that there was still hope for director Joel Souza, who was also wounded and ultimately survived. Moments later, Baldwin was photographed sobbing in the parking lot as he spoke to his wife on the phone.

Imagine learning that you unintentionally took someone’s life. That’s a hard burden no one should have to suffer. It’s so heartbreaking for both Alec and Halynas family.

This is horrible, he's gonna carry this throughout his life. I feel for him on a human level. This was so preventable and shouldn't have happened. But the level of negligence however unintentional, is just gross. Profoundly disgusting. Her husband and child no longer have her in their lives. Tragedy all around.

He obviously feels bad about what happened and honestly he might not get over this for a very long time. It should be a law to always have the firearm checked first if there isn't a law that does that already. He obviously is aware of what happened. To those that keep harassing him, stop. It shouldn't have been his job to check but rather whoever is supoose to. He just assumed it was empty and that was the fatal mistake. Measures need to be taken to prevent this from happening ever again, because it shouldn't have happened.

He so obviously feels despair and regret. His heart is broken. This was an accident and he shouldn't be treated like a reckless or careless person. He did as he was told and trusted the prop experts. This is so tragic for everyone.

Its not his fault, its the Armorers fault, she didn't properly check the gun, and you have to remember that someone put a real bullet in that gun so who was it?

He even now is probably feeling the exact same that Michael Masse did back in 1993, he was the guy who accidentally shot Brandon Lee on the set of The Crow with a prop gun and a blank that was lodged incorrectly into the barrel meaning it hit Lee with the same force as a normal bullet thus mortally wounding him and causing his death, Masse for the rest of his life was completely traumatised by what he had accidentally done and never forgave himself and I don’t think he ever spoke to or met Brandon’s mom or wife ever again because of his guilt, Alec most likely is in this exact situation now and will be traumatised for the rest of his life

Guys let's be honest about this whole tragic event. Mr. Baldwin is truly sad of what happened. Where did that bullet come from? That gun should be empty. EMPTY! The idea that someone wanted to kill that woman is ridiculous. Someone loaded that gun with live rounds!

It doesn't make any sense as to why he would do it on purpose while knowing the gun was loaded with real bullets. Why would a multi-million dollar actor with a wife and kids and a career and especially at that age wanna throw it all away to die in prison? Makes no sense whatsoever, if he wanted to throw his luxurious life away he would have pointed the gun at himself.
