Must have a very heavy fuel tank when empty . Hybrid cars seem to be heavier than their previous models? At least at the rear?

Hello. I really like your channel very much, having found it just recently via a suggestion after watching Tesla Bjorn. I’m a happy, new subscriber and hope you acquire masses of followers. Your style is just so open and informative, (especially on real world mileages) and very (splendidly) British. Thank you.

Hydrogen & EVs both have their good & bad points. It'll depend on the availability of vehicles and refueling infrastructure to which one will become popular. A little like VHS & Betamax back in the day. Many say Betamax was a better format, but VHS won the format war.

80£ of H2 for filling the tank and 400 miles range
80£ of diesel for filling a 2.0L TDi and 600 miles of range
8£ of supercharging for an electric car and 300 miles of range

I wish hydrogen fuel cell cars were more readily available throughout the UK. Their are only about 3 hydrogen models available here and most hydrogen fuel filling stations are in the south east of England.

I would like to see some of these car manufacturers offer a service to convert a petrol or diesel engined car to a hydrogen fuel celled car. That might be more cost effective compared to manufacturing an entire new car. This would help drive the demand for hydrogen which would then eventually drive demand for brand new cars to be hydrogen fuel celled cars.

Hydrogen fuel would have to be made more readily available throughout the UK as the demand increases.

I for one would love to own a hydrogen fuel celled car and I would be happy to recommend anybody to have one.

Can’t see hydrogen catching on, plus that’s one hell of a pressure in the tank than one would be sitting on! I think I’ll stick with my Kona electric and charge from my solar panels.

This is better than all electric because hydrogen cars can fuel up quickly like gasoline cars. Meanwhile electric cars take 35 minutes to charge up to 80 percent and that sucks.

Even at the standard 13p per Kwh, at 3.25p per mile, an EV Will do 3, 400 miles, compared to 400 miles for the £80 of Hydrogen.

Man think of the squeaky pop test you could do with all that hydrogen

How about they start investing in steam cars that use hydrogen to heat the water? The technology has been there for steam cars since the 1920s. the steam cars that Doble made in 1925 produced 1, 000lbs of torque and they could do 125mph and they could be started with a key, but they did weigh about 2.5 tons.

Of course, though one would like hear that these hydrogen cars are made solely from splitting water atoms, what might that do to the health of the water supply if hydrogen cars took over? Must admit this is getting towards atomic stuff and could be dangerous as hydrogen is highly flammable.

Question we should answer is - is hydrogen made from electrolizing water or from the same old thing - fossils of plants and animals? It must still be fueled with liquid gas. Would really like to hear that you could just take water and split the atoms in that to create hydrogen. Deriving hydrogen from fossil fuels means there isn't much of an evolution, right?

Hydrogen maybe is the future but not now... In 15 20 years... As the batteries and the ev... Are 5 to 10 years ahead..

Octopus have just released a tariff with an overnight tariff of 5p per Kwh.
An average EV does approx 4 miles per Kwh, so 1.25p per mile.
For your £80 of Hydrogen, an EV will do 6, 400 miles!!!
Hydrogen - 400 miles
Electric. - 6, 400 miles
Hydrogen - Where do I fill up?
Electricity - Ubiquitous, I can even charge overnight at my house, and can choose 100% renewable supplier.
Mmmmm, which one?

So it's free then. You don't have to pay for it. Gee wonder if you should show that part of refueling?
