I agree with the first tip as well. Despite having a large-ish audience, I do actually work with small companies in exchange for gifts sometimes. In my niche, almost nobody is loaded with money. Everyone's just trying to keep their head above water. 😅

So I do my best to help show products from smaller companies in my niche. Even if I don't get paid for it, it builds experience, gives me more tools for my business, helps my audience find new products and helps small business owners get some exposure and feedback.

Someday I'd like to be paid, but I know those who need exposure in my industry can't afford it. And those who can don't need the exposure.

I need to find a new niche if I wanna make money 😂😭

totally agree on the work in exchange for product at the beginning of your influencer career. it is great practice and building relationship with the brand! Having only 200 followers I will start with that for sure.

The tip to not include dm for collab in the bio and to focus on engagement instead of growth were my favourite. I'm a beginner content creator and I've got about 300 follower, but every day i see a follower increase and two of them decrease. I get notification of people actually following me but it doesn't increase my follower number which kinda made me sad since I am putting in a lot of effort to create good and valuable content for my audience. On the other side, initially my engagement was low but lately it has increased, not too much but yes it has increased. More people are engaging with my content and that is making me happy. So quick question, when calculating engagement (specifically on IG) do you base the engagement rate off of accounts engaged OR content interactions? One of the brands I work with has 843 followers, with 134 accounts engaged (past 30 days), and 474 content interactions (past 30 days)... So how would I take those numbers to calculate actual engagement rate?

I removed my email from my bio because a scammer was harassing me and reporting my account and getting it taken down. They reported me so many times and was getting my account banned. So I had to remove it for my safety lol
