A Florida police officer was relieved of duty pending an investigation into an incident with a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputy who accused him of speeding in the area.

According to an arrest report on June 9, Orlando Police Department Officer Alexander Shaouni was observed going 80 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. zone when he was pursued by an SCSO deputy and failed to stop.

Body-cam footage later shows Shaouni arguing with the Seminole County sheriff's deputy for pulling him over. He allegedly refused to hand over his driver's licence and proceeded to drive away from the deputy.

According to the Orlando Police Department, the incident has resulted in criminal charges against Alexander Shaouni.

Congrats to the "arresting" officer for doing that. That is incredibly hard to do, but shouldn't be...

Now there's a cop that gives all cops a bad name.
And then drives off.

I’m going to do that the next time I get pulled over. “ No” and drive off 😂

Nice...just cause you got a badge doesn't make you untouchable or give you permission to do whatever you want.

Stop blocking their faces, he’s a public servant. He has zero privacy rights.

Just retired. We all know any activation of emergency lights, not during official duties is a violation of any department policies. This officer's arrogance is alarming. But, I'm concerned that just like female trooper, who stopped miami cop, he will get harrased for this.

I hate it when these officers are either going in to work or home flashing blue's lights in the fast lane for no emergency at all. No calls and not even in their jurisdictions. I speed and I'm going to jail. Just cause you wear a badge don't put you above the law.

If that wasn’t a cop tho…. He would have a gun to his face, been chased, and run off the road. He let him drive away from the scene. So he still got special treatment!

Bravo for this great role-modeling of fair approaches to the rule of law!
You did the right thing letting him go after your evidence was collected!

The cop got the charges dropped and I'm sure internal affairs being headed by his fellow officers will let him back on the job.
