How To Build A Custom Laundry Room! DIY Renovation and Makeover!

👋 Today we build our dream laundry room! After nearly a year living in our first house, it was time to upgrade the laundry room. There was no storage and a very blah look with a wire rack and a counter top section. So my wife drew up a design and we built a custom laundry room! The only thing we bought pre made was the cabinets for about $80 each. They were on sale and that was a good deal from Home Depot! Then we bought several 6in wide planks of wood and cut them to about 5ft in length. We also bought some 1ft wide planks and cut them to size for the shelves. Then bought small 1x2 in pieces of wood and cut them to the right size for the trim on the new counter top and frame for the upper shelve. We stained all the wood and did a polyurethane coating. The shelve above the washer and dryer has a waterfall effect to the counter top and we cut a 45 degree angle on the shelf and smaller support pice so they would look perfect cascading into the counter. Use some wood filler on all of the nail gun holes and small gaps to make it all look even better. I built custom doors under the counter to hide 6 large storage bits. Just make sure your doors are perfectly square and they aren't too hard to build. I used magnets to hold the doors closed and we put handles on all of the doors. The upper shelve looks great with the frame under is and we added a metal bar to hang up clothes. We did ad a new ceiling light to get rid of the old ugly one too and then topped it all of with some decorations. So this video is a DIY laundry room that anyone can build with a few basic tools!
