Somebody please give me suggestions on the best tuning for an acoustic 8-string guitar I'm getting in the mail. I always thought that the 8th string would be a b or an a, and you would get a higher string above the e. I never thought people could tune down below a and it's still sound like anything decent.

I mean doesn't this create a lot of problems for bass players if they end up having to play the exact same octave as you? Like what is the bass player even for at that point?
