Maybe not firing all the nursing staff because they won’t agree to the fascist vaccine mandates would have solved the shortage.

They did this to themselves, they treat their staff like widgets and put profit ahead of duty. My wife quit the hospital because the nurse to patient ratio is always maxed out. When the ratio falls to a reasonable workable level for the nurses the admin send nurses home and max it back out for profit. Then the nurses are reminded by admin that nurses are held legally responsible for the care they give by the state. This is childish schoolyard bully behavior. They need to clear out the overpaid non-productive administrative class within the system and focus on the caregivers and patients by keeping the ratio of nurses to patients at a reasonable level. It’s sad that the reporters won’t admit or bring up the true reason behind the nurse shortage… Nurses who refuse to get the vaccine…. There are hundreds and hundreds in Nebraska who refuse, my cousin quit after 22 years of nursing at a hospital in Omaha, I’ve a niece who has just been a RN for 4 years who is going back to college to train for another career…
Not admitting the true reasons is pathetic
