There’s no nursing shortage. Nurses have quit the field and don’t want to come back, especially after the treatment they got during and after the pandemic. The younger generation don’t want to work hard. Having 7 to 8 patients on a Tele floor is not for the weak. And a lot of time one nursing assistant for the whole floor. So how are you suppose to give care to those patients when you’re doing other people job too. Nursing administration, especially those that were floor nurses before act like they’ve never worked the floor and want everything to be perfect.

The problem is that they don't pay or hire like there's a shortage.
It's almost like admin wants to keep a skeleton crew.

'Innovative" is code for do more with less.

Don’t make it so difficult to get in the program.Once in the program don’t make it do hard also pay and ratio of patients to nurse. Young people don’t want to do nursing too hard and overwhelming.

Hospitals intentionally run a skeleton crew. Squeeze more profits out of the nurses. Its more profitable to have no resource and no charge and just have the current nurses work over ratio. If there is even a ratio. I see it all the time. Having an extra CNA helps tremendously. It cost them about $180 for the shift. But they will cancel or send one home and have the other CNAs pickup the slack. Same for RNs. They're always sending an RN home and redistributing her patients among the remaining nurses. All to save an extra $200. And then during covid when the hospitals were receiving government funding. They kept it all. They would offer the nurses an extra $5 to $10 an hour only if they picked up an extra shift! An extra 4th super stressful shift. All for an extra $70 after taxes. Yes nurses have had it. Yes they're quitting. And at many hospitals they were threatened with either taking an experimental medication or be fired. And many were fired after having worked at their hospitals for 15+ years. Loyalty means nothing to these people. We're just a number to hospitals. Easily replaceable.

Also, don’t instill FEAR for their licenses and don’t micromanage them like little non-thinking minions.

You want to encourage nurses simply pay more and establish laws that mandate safe staffing ratios. Being innovative doesn’t mean let’s give u the same incentives and change the names to make it sound out of this world.

How about paying registered nurses and therapists at proper pay rates.

Please do hire our Filipino nurses from the Philippines as more and more Filipino nurses working abroad are going in the direction of the United States.

Very stressful and I won't encourage anyone. This is a vocation not for everybody.
