I think what I appreciate most is Emmy's ability to describe what she's doing and experiencing with her senses with a delightful level of knowledge and detail. Takes you from just watching someone prepare something to the ability to imagine yourself doing it as well.

Love hearing you say you’re not a fan of watermelon while looking exactly like a watermelon 😂❤

I felt that *"you've been warned"* in my BONES. Sewing scissors are not for paper or packaging or anything but fabric and thread.

😆🤣 "Do not touch my sewing scissors! You've been warned."
I can totally relate to that.

I literally sleep with having Emmy videos play in the background due to she only has specifically ONE AD that isn’t loud or long and perfect! Shout out to sterns and fosters ! 😂

Haven't seen your content in years. I am glad it's still the same style from my childhood! Stay lovely Emmy!

In my predominantly West Indian neighborhood, the hibiscus is called sorrel, and is sold dirt cheap in large plastic bags. I make my drink with a little bit if dried mint for extra cooling, and sweeten with stevia as I am diabetic. It’s killer! Really refreshing, cooling, thirst-quenching.
I will try the tacos, sounds really good!

Adding tamarind to the hibiscus infusion adds a really nice tangy flavor

🇯🇲 Jamaican here. Many of us in the Caribbean know it as sorrel, and while found year round, it's traditionally made at Christmas.

The"flowers" are boiled and steeped at least overnight with ginger. Sweetened with brown sugar, then spiked with wine, rum or liqueur. My family bottles it in glass bottles with a few grains of pimento. ❤

Chilled Hibiscus tea is a delicious summery drink in Egypt. It's also a very effective traditional remedy for hypertension!

We eat hibiscus flowers here in Angola! It’s called “lombi de mutyetye” here, when you eat the calyxes/leaves. There’s a wild variety that’s very tasty and lemony.

A common staple in a Mexican household. Hibiscus flowers go great with kale and 🌮!

As a general tip for making jamaica tacos, you can make a second batch of infused water, this will also help to get a more meat-like texture

WOW! Thank you. I have always just composted the spent jamaica blossoms!

Hi! Looks delicious. For a non alcoholic cocktail add a splash of Ginger Ale, that is what I do with unsweetened cranberry juice! Nice tart but with a bit of carbonation.
Oh a hint for the "oh no I cut open my avocado too soon!" Just remove skin and pit as usual. Then slice the hard avocado. Heat up small pan with EVOO (just a light spray will do it) and add the avocado. Cook until both sides lightly browned. Remove, sprinkle with a bit of salt/garlic (or not) and eat! You can put it in a sandwich, salad or mash up and use. It will be soft and delicious! I add it warm to my tacos/wraps/ taco salads or even as a side dish (sort of like avocado fries)! Never waste an avocado! 😋👍

If you cut into an unripe avocado, steam it. I promise you it works like a charm. I cut it into slices and plop them onto an already med-high pan with a couple tablespoons of water, quickly cover, and remove when soft. Doesn't take long. Few minutes.

Make the chile salsa that’s made with the flowers leftover from making the agua de jamaica. I first saw it in Michoacan Mexico
