I only had tacos in US. So I bet these are not really authentic Mexican tacos.

There are many types of tacos in Mexican cuisine, and these are most similar to “tacos dorados” (golden/fried tacos). We commonly fill the tacos with shredded chicken or mashed potatoes seasoned with just black pepper and salt (but really it can be made with anything you have! Even just refried beans). Some people also like to include thinly sliced carrots or zucchini. ❤️ “Sopita aguada” (Mexican soup) is the go-to side dish my family opts to when eating tacos dorados.
Also, if the tortilla is neatly rolled up and fried, you now have “flautas” (flutes 🪈, due to their thin cylindrical shape). They use mostly the same ingredients and steps BUT flautas are covered in “consomé” which is a warm tomato sauce that helps softening the tortillas.
