I shadowed a doctor in high school. He kept saying don't do it, yeah the money is good, but it's not worth it. He really made me rethink my decision...I ended up going into finance and I'm pretty happy.

Great advice. I know a number of family members who said they wouldn't do it again even though they have so much money.

Nice one. I think it can be applied to more fields. Always seek for both pros and cons. Wish to be a doctor? Having night shifts, seeing things that makes your brain explode, getting used to things which are cool for most, never stop learning, having no life and being recognized by people you don't know? Become a doctor. Learn even more? Become an IT specialist. You can probably apply this to any job.

Cant agree more. I dont regret being a Dr, but every time ppl ask i would tell them all the sufferings to make sure they are really prepared for it

Talking to someone who’s become jaded might not actually be all that great advice. We end up not having enough doctors. It’s probably just better to let people remain naive until they figure it out down the road if it was all worth it. Lol
