Where I go to medical school there's a well known student that's at least in his 70s, you can always find him in the library. He's decided to study medicine after his wife passed away, that's the biggest example that it's never too late.

True story. My mother was a RN when I was growing up. She went to Med school when I went to college. I graduated college the same year she graduated Med school. Then I went to Med school in the same city where she did her residency. She did a 4 year residency in ob/gyn. When I was a fourth year Med student, I rotated on her service as she was then a senior/chief resident. I was young and care free! She went to Med school, had her 6th! Child while in Med school, and raised her 5 other kids while going to Med school and doing her residency. I still look back….impressed.

Was 33 when I started med school two years ago. I’ll be 40 when I graduate. I have a classmate that is 60+ who is an amazing student and will make an exceptional doctor! It’s never too late and we’re never too old.

I started at medical school at 23 and I felt old because UK medical graduates start at 18! So happy I still went for it though and I realise now that it does not matter!

I grew up in a poor home in a small apartment, my mother is a housewife while my father was a janitor at a supermarket, my father was a janitor for 21 years working minimun wage most of his career until he found out he was going to be a grandparent, he went back to university where he majored in recreation and leisure, and he went back and got his JD degree, and at 47 years old he became a Lawyer at a firm.
Its never to late to get your education.
My dad is our role model and im happy that my children will have someone to look up to.
I'm hoping to get to MED school in a few years.

I'm 31 and a med school applicant in Japan. I know things are different between us but I've inspired by this video and all these positive comments. In Japan most people would stop you or discourage you when you tell them you want to be a doctor even from your mid 20's.
This is very shame but if you're woman, things can be more hard. But still I want to be a doctor.
I want to say 'No one can stop me' all time but sometimes I really need help for encouraging myself. I'm glad I found this video, thank you so much. I'm following my dream too.

I started med school at 38. I had been a PA before so the transition was pretty easy. A classmate was 40 when he interviewed. He was asked about his age. His was response was that in 4 years he would be 44, and if he was accepted he would be 44 and a doctor.

I’m 22 and I haven’t even gone to undergrad. I’ve been on my own since 18 and I’ve really wanted to go to college. I knew in high school i wanted to pursue a career in medicine and my mind has not changed in the last 4 years since being out of high school. I am a DACA recipient so I don’t qualify for FAFSA or many other scholarships. I am saving my money now so I can pay for some of my undergrad and not have too much debt before med school. I just want to say a huge thank you to you Dr. Webb for being a reminder that my dreams can still come true.
