How Much Would It Cost To Build A PC As Powerful As The PS5 Pro?

It’s honestly surprising to believe that the PS5 is almost 4 years old at this point, and Sony seems to have some great plans in store for the future of this generation.

After a buffet of reports and leaks, we finally have confirmation of the existence of a PS5 Pro. Sporting a significant GPU upgrade and storage expansion, the PS5 Pro is being touted as the definitive way to experience the best of this generation.

While there’s a certain argument to be had when it comes to the viability of the console itself, it always makes for an interesting idea to assemble a similarly performing PC and gauge the price differences. With this feature, we will be doing exactly that as we try to build out a PC that’s the same as the PS5 Pro.

Digital Foundry already said you need an RTX 4070, not 4060. I know it’s all hypotheticals at this point, but I’m sure they know what they’re talking about when referring to GPU power.

Here comes the PC fanboys...

FYI. I used to game on PC and build my own rigs, but what many PC gamers overlook is the main advantage of consoles: you can just turn them on, play for 15-45 minutes, and relax on the bed or couch without worrying about optimizations, compatibility issues, game-breaking updates, or background apps interfering. Most of the time on PC, I found myself more focused on nitpicking game performance—obsessing over FPS and squeezing out maximum detail from my rig—than actually enjoying the games. I ended up spending more time and money on hardware than on the games I wanted to play.

When you're tired from work, busy, or not having enough time, you don't have to deal with any of that hassle on a console.

You don't have to pay for online play with PC. That's like infinite savings... Lol

Sorry but you cannot recreate what the PS5 pro is gonna do for gaming with a PC at $750...NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

After the PS5 Pro price, I was going to just by the base PS5 but I have a PC with Ryzen 5 5600x with RTX 2060. So, decided to Upgrade to RTX 4070 Super. I guess that a win 😄.

Bro PS5 Pro GPU is way faster than 4060, can use 12 gb as VRAM, Rx -7700xt is PS5 Pro equivalent GPU

You can save even more by getting a RTX3060 as its performance is basically the same as the RTX4060, sometimes even slightly better.

Storage wise you can save more by getting a Kingston 2TB SSD.

A 1000W PSU isn't necessary at all for this build. You can save even more by getting a 650W/750W PSU (Gold)

The money saved can get you a 1080p monitor, a cheap mechanical keyboard such as Aula and a cheap gaming mouse with at least 4800dpi and 1000hz polling rate + mouse pad and also a WiFi adapter if the motherboard do not have one already.

An unactivated Windows 10 OS is basically free to download.

There you go. You can save even more on heavily discounted PC games which is available like every now and then.

Seriously just get a gaming PC. You won't regret it.

I have a pc that has a pretty decent specs. i7 10th gen 3060 ti 16gb ram 2.5 tb drive, not gonna upgrade just gonna buy a ps5 pro. Not gonna go through the hassle of building or replacing my perfectly capable pc. Plus the ps exclusive is one of the reason im going for the ps5 pro

You're wrong the ps5 pro is using a rdna3 not a rdna2

Yeah so the basic conclusion is that I am better off spending around a 1000$ or more on a gaming pc. Which I am saving up money for now. I own a regular ps5 and Xbox series X. But no more consoles for me in the future.

This video should just be named how to build a ps5 equivalent pc. The rtx 4060 is equivalent to rtx 2070 super and the rx 7700 xt is a closer match to the ps5 pro, a gpu that is 40 percent faster than the 4060.

I think digital foundry said you need a 4070 to match the ray tracing technology of the pro

So… 1000$ for a new pc that can do everything or a 800$ console that can only play games

it sounds like the hardware for the console hasn't changed from the normal one much, so they may just done some optimization with the drivers, memory speeds, and PCB traces
