She's not wrong. There are many ways out there in a first world country to prevent an unintended child, so there's very little if any excuse. There's abstinence, there's multiple forms of birth control ranging from over the counter to hormonal to sterilization surgery, there's the emergency contraception pill if protection isn't used or fails, and if pregnancy happens anyway, there's abortion or putting the baby up for adoption if one really can't or doesn't want to be a parent. Too many options for there to really be any excuses at this point
