What about invitee account requirements- guest, contributor, or editor? Is an Ancestry account required, and what kind, paid or free, and for each role? I aim to create an online family file and invite family members to view it, but some may want to contribute. Thank you for explaining how to do this.

I would add: BE CAREFUL!

Make sure there is no information in your tree that you do not want others to view (adoptions, illegitimacy, LGBTQ status, etc.) You also want to make sure any living people's information is share-able, because the viewer will see living information.

I've heard too many horror stories of people whose private information was shared without their knowledge or consent, simply because someone shared an Ancestry tree and forgot the information was there, or didn't realize the living info could be seen by a visitor.
