Police Recruits Get Pepper Sprayed

Pepper spray, also known at OC (oleoresin capsicum) spray is one of the less lethal options available to the Denver Police Department. As part of their training, DPD Recruit Officers spray each other with OC to gain a better understanding of what it means to use that level of force when they're on the street.

I used my CO spray in a use-of-force once and accidentally sprayed myself lol and the two offenders fighting they coughing I'm coughing lmao not a good day

I just recently got pepper sprayed and what really helps the most is Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo and ice cubes.
Once it hits your eyes and you finished doing your drills..first thing you have to do is:
1. Rinse your face with water.
2. Put baby shampoo on your hands and rub it into your eyeballs.
3. Rinse again with water.
Do number 2 and 3 as much as you want.
4. Go to an open place and air it out.
5. Get a clothe and put the ice cube inside it, then dab it on your face.
Or..
Get the ice cubes and dab it on your face.
Trust me, it helps a lot. 😀

Ahhh I remember getting sprayed with Fox labs when I got certified for security. Glad I did because not three months latter I sprayed someone and they spit it back in my face. Thankfully I knew to keep my eyes open, blink and exactly what to expect so I was not caught off guard. Dude was crying and barely fought me putting him in cuffs while I was still able to function and see enough to get the job done.

Lucky...when I was in correctional officer training we got tear gassed and sprayed with OC. They just made us suffer and blink to get rid of it. No water no fan😫

It's not until a few years pass that all the newbie's figure out this "training" is B.S. and it's really just to F___ with the new guys and girls. That's it. You can't train your way into not minding being pepper sprayed any more than you can train your body to get used to being cold. The people spraying these new recruits are laughing their ass off every time. Me too.

Who are these cops kidding?

There ain't no way a cop (or anyone else!) could still be in control once their eyes are hit with pepper spray.

So for them to still yell "Get down on the ground!" is ludicrous!

At that point, it is the criminal who's in control, not the cop anymore.

Unless the cop being sprayed has backup present, it is best for him/her to get away from the criminal.

Staying there to give orders while your eyes are shut and your breathing labored is not smart.

A hardened criminal will move in and kill the incapacitated cop.

Not a smart tactic!
