I've been sprayed twice... And it sucks. Just get through it. It hurts but you can breathe (even if you think you can't) and you can push through the pain.

I’ve had to do this many times! Each company that requires an officer to be OC cert requires an up-to-date certification. It gets easier when you remember the basics. The one thing people don’t realize is that water makes it run down everywhere; the mouth, the nostrils, neck, inside your eye lids, this makes recovery take longer. 😣😭

I work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and I had to be exposed to pepper spray (OC) and military-grade tear gas (CS). As I remember it, they’re both excruciatingly painful, but in a different way. CS basically knocks the wind out of you, while OC burns like liquid fire, though they both result in temporary blindness. I also have a Taser for personal use in the free world and tested it on myself to see what it was like. The Taser may hurt worse at the moment, but I think I’d rather get tased again than go through the gas. The Taser only lasts 5 seconds, but the residue and burning sensation of tear gas linger for a long time

Police magnum oc 17 is the only pepper spray I use professional and private. The Army warehouse store where I buy it only carrie's this brand.

I work security Ive been sprayed four times Once as a Police Officer in Illinois and twice in training at work. Once by one of my team members at work.

I agree. Sprayed twice & worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Never again!

I had a 1/2 dose of Sabre Red a couple days ago, and the pain was intense but bearable on the skin. The eyes, though. Every time I tried to open my eyes it felt like hornets were stinging them then molten lava, and my eyes basically forced themselves back shut. Do they use a lower grade for this training, or do you just have to find a way to fight through that pain and be able to open your eyes?
