@NHAlexNH Yes it does work. And there is just much the same shorter method for the R cos ones. In fact I not long ago uploaded Q6 on January Q6 paper. It has one there. Check it out on my website

1/(root3) to rationalize you multiply both by root3 which gives you root3/3 surely?

I wasn't taught the short way does it work for all RSin(x+a) questions and is there a shorter way for RCos? Thanks

I'm very confused as to why root3 goes with sin alpha. You spun the equation around, but if you had left it then it would be cos alpha?

why does alpha = tan^-1 (root3/1). shouldnt it be tan^-1(1/root3)?

Im so confused - should alpha= b/a and therefore 1/root 3 ??? :(
