The shape and where it crosses the axes is all they generally are interested in.

It would be the solution to x^3+2x^2+4x+4=0 which is roughly -1.3

@SuperNovaFX Thank you, it will be much appreciated.

Hahahahah @ 2:45, you make me laugh sometimes Stuart! :P

@SuperNovaFX Drawing a table would give the same result but I would not encourage this method unless really desperate. As for the domain going from -3 to 3, well that might not be sufficient in some cases. If you had a graph such as y=(x-4)(x-6) this would cross the x-axis at x=4 and x=6 which is outside your domain. Best learn the basic graphs and learn your transformations and where graphs cross the x-axis and y-axis.

Thanks alot for this question . When i was doing this in timed conditions as practice i thought the question wanted a cubic graph so i skipped it but your tutorial showed me otherwise . hard paper .

Hello, I just wanted to ask a very quick question,

Do we have to take account of part 7a) where we we were taking that there is a root of f(x) = 0 in the interval (-2, -1). I was wondering why you didn't talk about that when you were drawing.

As I was aware that x^3 graph has 3 roots and is weirdly shaped I assumed that x^4 will have 4 roots and thought it would be weirdly shaped not the shape of a x^2 graph. How are you meant to spot this and be able to draw the graph accordingly if you know what I mean

Why is the other x crossing point ignored?

Hi, how would we know whether to ignore the other x-axis intersection point and how did you derive that answer as factorisation is not possible?

sir i would like to ask u that in the exam do the examiner cares about the accuracy of the graph or just cares that the shape of it must be correct

From part a where we did f(-2)=16 and f(-1)= -3 can we draw that on our graph also? so when f(-2) x=-2 and y=16. f(-1) x= -1 and y= -3?
Thanks :)
