@ExamSolutions cool i didn't know edexcel is the most popular, however i'm guessing edexcel and ocr question are kind of similar.

Hi, i was just wondering, I did this question and got part b right but then when i did c i found the gradient of dx/dy at point P which is root 2 then found the normal gradient of that etc... I know this is wrong but why?? I see you have used dy/dx ie the answer for b to find the normal gradient but since the curve equation is with x as the subject, why can you use dy/dx and dx/dy?? I have my exam in just over a week so i would be really grateful if you could answer :)
