DaVinci Resolve Cant Import Media Fix 2020

Today I'm going to show you how to fix media not importing to Davinci Resolve. There are a couple steps for this DaVinci resolve tutorial so make sure to stay tuned so you don't miss a thing. After this video, you will be able to finally import all your media clips into DaVinci resolve and fix it every time it happens again.

I'm actually running into an issue where I recorded in obs studio and have mp4 files and those files can't be imported, so it seems to be a general issue or something

it isnt working for my mp4 files, i only have 1 single mp4 folder that is working, the rest arent

I also couldn't import media and stumbled upon this video. Didn't work for me, then I figured out the problem. This might help others.
If your file has weird characters or emojis in the filename somehow the software won't import it. So try renaming the media filename with regular text.

VLC media player is broken. I tried like seven different times to do the conversion and it either does not do shit, corrupts the file, or keeps the file exactly the same and just duplicates the already existing file. Wow

Also. Make sure the filename doesn't contain any weird characters. I wouldn't recommend even having spaces in filenames. Some clip I downloaded from YT had EMOJI of all things in the filename and it completely tripped me. After I finally removed it from the filename I could import it into Resolve!

My audio was the problem. For some reason it didn't want to import a regular MP3 file, reconverted it to mp3 and it worked! thanks man

You can just go in obs and convert files to mp4 I just dug around and figured it out instead of using a seperate application you didnt help me fix it but you did help me figure out the problem so thank you very much sir :)
