This is what I call greatness. It's a 30 year project, that requires a lot of patience but am willing to learn if you want to teach.

China spent 30 years to plant sustainable greenery for one-third of the Kubuqi Desert (18, 600 sq. km) in China's Inner Mongolia Province. This is an incredible achievement, because China's experience and technology can be used to reverse desertification in other countries. This will improve the lives and standards of living for impoverished people trying to earn an income by working the land.

When I was in Western Yunnan, the Chinese border near Myanmar. The Christian pastor there told me his works beside preaching in church, managing his farms would be planting trees and also encourage others to do the same.
Over his thirty-something years of cleric role, he has planted over 100 thousand trees, that is more than 10 trees per day. These trees will eventually prevent landslides, which are frequent in the areas due to heavy rainfall and earthquakes.

Desert reclamation and revitilization programs such as these in China have a substantial benefit on the land, its people and their livelihood. It still takes work and patience to succeed but stopping the worsening sand dunes, dust and soil erosion are worth the effort. Large parts of Northern China experience dust and sand storms, so planting hardy trees and grasses make good sense to fight these environmental problems. Kudos and praise for any group that encourages this kind of land reclamation.

We need more projects like this.

problem: this desert is expanding due to our practices putting important production areas at risk.

Solution: Plant drought resistant plants to slow/reverse damage to reclaim and push back against our damage.

It's as if they actually listen to scientists and make decisions based on facts and logic instead of rhetoric. Say what you will about Communism/socialism, but with the right ppl in charge they can make better policies than a dysfunctional democracy. Not to say one sys is inherently better than the other, but we should recognize the strengths and weakness of both.

This is so pleasing to see, well done to China. I have been saying for years the world needs a better vision; restoration, regeneration, so the people of the Earth shine like the stars above etc. It's not just moral its scientific and ecological, improves the hydrology cycle (water), gives life to bees and pollinators that improve crop yields, this is called infinite unified intelligence or congruent thinking. My friends son is learning Chinese at university, I will inform him of this good news.
