I remember how horrible the desert wind blowerd to a village. there was one man, the only man stayed in that village. he can see nothing because wind blowed like typhoon no.10. he said he would abandon his place next month. he said hopelessly. And now, there is great achievement in these desert. they have good living and happy. Our country is doing great.

Xinjiang basically was a unsustainable environment for centuries in the history. Several of civilizations were buried under the deserts in Xinjiang.
Now things changed completely, Xinjiang became the most significant port of Silk Road(BRI) connecting west and east.
