We’re often told by colleagues or IT workers that its important to reboot our pc regularly, but why is this and what effects can it have if we don’t? That's what we’re going to answer in this video.

Please do subscribe if you haven’t already, it really helps this small channel grow.

The first reason it’s important to reboot your pc regularly, is to allow software and the operating system to update. Many operating system updates, driver updates, and application patches require a reboot to be fully applied. This ensures that critical updates, especially security patches, are correctly implemented. When a software vulnerability is found, companies work fast to provide a patch to protect your device from the vulnerability. If you don’t reboot the patch wont be applied so you wont be protected.
Disk management is also helped by rebooting, temporary files and data can accumulate over time, consuming disk space and potentially causing performance issues. Rebooting helps clear these temporary files. Some files can also remain locked by applications, even after they are closed. If you try and delete a file that you have open in an application, you’ll notice in most cases you wont be able to delete it. A reboot releases these locked files, allowing for proper management and deletion if necessary.
Another reason to reboot is memory management. Over time, running applications can fragment the Random Access Memory (RAM) and leave behind data fragments from closed applications, known as memory leaks. Rebooting the PC clears the RAM, ensuring that it is fully available for use by active applications.

A final reason to reboot is system performance. Operating systems and applications cache data to speed up processing. Over time, this cached data can become outdated or corrupted. Rebooting clears these caches, preventing slowdowns caused by out of date or corrupted data. Various background services and processes run on a PC. Over time, these services can consume more resources or encounter errors. Rebooting restarts these services, releasing resources and resolving potential issues.

How often do you reboot your pc? Let me know down in the comments and please do subscribe if you’ve enjoyed this video, and thanks for watching!

Yes not just PC's but also smartphones and tablets it's also good to shut them down for about 10 to 20 seconds give the hardware a complete shutdown and dead time
