Sinusitis can happen in any individual through lesser or larger degree even when you have a bit of a colds, but having said that chronic sinusitis is not normal, recurring sinusitis is escalating and can have serious portrayals. We have noticed that many people who have intractable sinusitis also has recurrent sore throats, infection in the throat, chronic tonsillitis chronic bronchitis and even asthma. So treating sinusitis alleviates the patient from the frequency and the severity of the lower respiratory diseases also. So this is one of the common causes, chronic sinusitis that is caused by the polyps can sometimes cause breach of the bone, as a result of which you can have polyps in the nasal cavity where the sinus is coming and going laterally even into the orbit, punching the eyeballs oewnmtim the sinuses can have infection caused by fungi that can erode the bone and all the nearby structures can get affected. So sinusitis from the fugal causes can cause rupture of the bone. So the sinusitis has to be treated aggressively and the patient has to be on regular follow up and ensure that the patient does the postoperative toileting of the nose, which is the main stay of treatment after the surgeries.

Thanks for your information Dr. I have suffered chronic sinus for so many years but now it has traveled to my brain and the hospitals here don’t know how to help me accept prescription of nasal spray which helps a little but I feel dizzy I feel the fluid moving in my cranial and pain at my lower inner left side of my head between eye and ear, what antibiotic can I take ? I have allergies with only penicillin

I've suffered from chronic sinusitis for years almost 12 to 13 years now I've been to every ent available here, even tried homoeopathy medication, went to a sinusitis massager, nothing help now I think my eyes are affected I have constant headache, gums problem throat and what not, this is really stressful and affected my day to day life.

I have head swells and my eye were strained when the vision wasn’t really changed. It was like I was forced to close them. I had bad phlegm like choking but that could be GERD. I felt dizzy daily like I could pass out. Is this sinusitis to the brain or most likely another condition?

I have been suffering with this stuffy nose all my life. Breathing through my mouth when my nose is blocked is like an everyday scenario for me.
Then comes the worst; I developed difficulty breathing since last year. It's like something blocking in my head when I'm breathing. I know the feeling of getting full breath but now I can't do it because of that.

And a month or two after I developed difficulty breathing. One nose is always blocked so when I sleep I always unblock the side nose on the side of the heart because it's easier to breathe. I can switch my blocked nose just by my sleeping position (left or right).
I'm just hoping that this won't affect my brain or something. Because I'm still a student

Hi Doctor!

I'll describe how do I feel because of the Sinusitis issue.
• Nostrils are completely blocked.
• Mucus doesn't come out at all.
• Head Ache (Severe). I mean it feels as if the weight of my brain is much more than my entire body.
• I feel breathles many time throughout the day. It will get worst in the night.
• There will be anxiety & depression that I may die soon. (I get these thoughts when I am breathless)
• Haven't slept peacefully for many days.

Pls let me know if this is common & how do I treat it? It's since my childhood & have got worse now.

I wish no one suffers from this.

This is all very useful information doctor. I don't know if you're going to see my comment but I was hoping you could tell me if fungal sinusitis mucus has a very bad bad smell? I've never had a sinus infection that has had such a bad smell to it, or cause me such fatigue. Also the mucus is very very thick and green looking. My AC unit is full of mold and I cannot clean it out because it is big and very heavy. I don't know if that means I need to stay out of my home? Or move out or what. But I am very concerned that I may have a fungal sinusitis and I have an appointment with the doctor in the morning. I'm hoping and praying for a good outcome that it has nothing to do with fungus.. I'm concerned about this really foul smelling mucus though and the extreme pain that shoots up my nose and into my eyeball.

I had a bit of cotton wadding stuck fused to my sinus after it got stuck there after surgery it got stuck in 2005
I got it out in 2020 I tried many times to dig it out with a cotton tip but it felt like my brain was splitting, I didn't deserve medical help the surgeon said & it seems everyone agreed mylife didn't matter. Now sinus scan shows very .I'll infection but the sinus rinse comes out my tear duct the back of .y head. Feels stiff sore like I've been hit by a bat my ears ring my eyes play up They did this let me suffer for so many years and I don't deserve help, I don't know why in2020 I was pain free when I dug it out but it was a fleeting moment of pain free NowLetsSee what lies they make up to explain why I deserve this I am in Australia
