I just wore the shoes for 5 days even in house. When I was in my house I wore them untied. I was in pain yes, but I broke them in in 5 days. After that my docs were like there were made custom for my feet 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Oh the heel seam was AGONY! I had no idea that one could have used ''panty liners'' or sanitary pads as a buffer! Too bad I gave my DM's away basically unworn. {1990's made in England}{

I hired A dog walker with same size shoe and paid them a little extra to wear my Doc's. I'm either a genius or a cheat but whatever it worked

Thanks for your tips. I'm now breaking in my first pair of martens and now hope it'll be painless. By the way - my late father's tip for breaking in: put some 70% alcohol on the place the shoe is too hard and harms your foot. Sometimes it works... Thanks again.

I bought my first pair of Doc Martens about 30 YEARS ago and I don't even remember breaking them in except by wearing them. They were the "greasy" finish so maybe that made it easier. I just bought a pair of smooth leather Docs and man oh man are they stiff. I could leave them in the car on a sunny day but temperatures of 120F and above might not be the best plan

Boot stretcher, hands down. I bought my Docs brand new for a serious deal. Only problem was they were two sizes too small with no return policy (I thought they were sized similarly to Roots boots which are two sizes oversized LOL). Anyway, I used a boot stretcher for a LONG time but now they fit [almost] perfectly and the leather cooperates finally.

Great content man. I recently picked up a pair of Wyoming leather combs, and they’ve been treating me amazingly. Didn’t have a horrible time breaking in, just regular wear. My next pair is going to be Jaimes leather harness Chelsea boot, and I’m nervous and excited lmao

Much love man

When I get new docs for the first two weeks I cut a pad in half and stick it to the heel. I also were thick socks, and I bring some bandaids just in case there are some parts that are bothersome and painful. And I wear them everyday. After than they are mostly broken in and I just grin and bear any small pain that I might have. But I still wear the thick socks just to make sure

i have tried the silicone heal pad/protection, it is best to wear it after you wear a thick socks. it becomes itchy (due skin reaction to silicone) if you put it on first before the socks and wearing it all day.

Portable heater, small space, Vaseline or coconut oil, rub it in while wearing them. Let them sit a couple hours, then rub in/wipe off the excess oil.

the "plastic ankle protector" works real well for me, i wear it under the sock, and it went perfect during the break process, i use it with all leather boots that i own. simple inexpensive and so

instead of bandaids, use scotch tape. put balsam on the inside directly where it rubs. helps break them in.

Me for some reason. When I bought Dr Martens Jadon, I adjusted by using 5 shoelace holes just for comfort, and it just break naturally

I just put like 3 pairs of socks and wore them every day for a week and they only hurt me while walking around the same mall I got them at

A few hours a day in a warm house with wool socks . Use the balm, and take your time . Thats how i used to break in new danner army boots when i was in. Danners are very thick and stiff when new . Then i would wear them half a day, and change out, until fully broken in . Take your time and get your feet tough along the way .
