Love the paranormal? Watch my groundbreaking, chilling new documentary on life after death, "In Search of the Dead":

Far from catching a mere glimpse of another time, those who have reported time slips claim to have experienced full immersion in a time out of place. For those who claim to have temporarily visited the past - or indeed, the future - it is suggested that the very fabric of our reality is more fluid than we believe. As such, here are five cases of people who allege to have experienced a glitch in time.

I possibly experienced a time slip myself. It was 1970, and I was in San Francisco, California, on a class field trip. We got to ride on a cable car, which work on the old technology of decades ago. Suddenly it was like a fogbank broke, and instead of the modern scene, I was seeing people in clothing and hairstyles probably from the 1890's, the women sporting the 'Gibson Girl' look. There were horses in the streets, and tied up by the sidewalks. Then suddenly the scene went back to the present time, and nothing more happened. I never mentioned this to anyone that day, as the other students would have thought I was weird. I had an older brother with Aspergers Syndrome, so I already had a reputation for coming from an odd family. This is the first time I've ever shared this story with anyone.

I dreamt a future event, it was very unremarkable but very specific. When it played out some many months later it really shook me I've never been able to forget it.

I had a similar experience near Bold Street in 1988. I went into a Post Office where they had racks of local telephone directories which I used to look up record shops in the area. When I went back the next day the books were no longer there, When I asked a staff member what had happened to the phone books on the back wall they said they hadn't stored them like that in years. Very strange.

My husband experienced a time slip at a titanic expedition. He actually saw a little boy dressed in 1920 ish clothing. The little boy turned to him and said in a scared voice I got to get out of here and ran. When my hubby went to tell security they said they could not find him. Also my husband questioned people in the direction the kid ran and no one saw him.

I had a very strange experience in Nottingham, UK, about 17 years ago. My mate and I were out shopping and generally mooching about. With nothing specific to purchase, we very casually looked in loads of shops, browsing clothes, CDs, DVDs etc, in no great hurry. We probably went in to about 7 or 8 different places. A while later we remembered we needed to meet our Mums (we were still both quite young!) so my mate checked his watch. It said only ten minutes had passed which seemed impossible. We checked with a random pedestrian and they confirmed the same thing. What felt like about 45 minutes to an hour was only 10. We couldn't believe it at all and to this day, i firmly believe something very strange happened to us.

There was a spot like this near my dorm at Cal Poly, Pomona in 1994. Every time I walked through it coming back from class, weird stuff would happen like dejavous where people I saw on the street weren't quite in the right place, and one time I saw an event that happened 3 days later.

One of my Aunts was often visited by spirits or ghosts, in every house she lived in. One day while walking down the hall from living room to bedrooms, she encountered an Indian. (She lived in Ohio). Behind the Indian was woods, not her house. He also saw her and her house behind her. They were both so frightened they both turned and ran.

No matter if these stories actually really happened, I love the idea such could happen. It's so adventurous. It gives me the chills!

I have never personally experienced one myself however a friend of mine in the Army said that he did. We were on guard duty and he was on his way back from waking up the relief when he ran back and said that there were enemy troops preparing to attack us. He was shaking like a leaf and was as pale as a ghost.

Sometimes when I close my eye for a few seconds I travel forward in time by about 8 hours.

I was born and bred in Liverpool. I can tell you, absolutely that Bold Street, along with other streets within the city, has had many incidents involving people inadvertently travelling back to the past. I have heard of this case mentioned, before, as it is quite well known within the city. Liverpool, also has a reputation as being one of the most haunted cities in England.

I love the experience of Moberly and Jordane. Two very conservative spinster teachers suddenly experience a completely unknown moment in time. I am especially fascinated by the fact that the French the people spoke during their visit was quite different than the French of 1900.
It seems quite bit similar to the experiences of tourists wandering at the Gettysburg battlefield, suddenly finding soldiers speaking oddly, or looking way too authentic to be reenactors.

I personally think that Jung was somehow revisiting a past life of his, during which he had lived in the era of Gallia Placidia. His subconscience was actually remembering how that building looked over 1500 years before, with the stunningly beautiful mosaics that sadly do not exist any more.

Like M J, I believe I had a slip back in '75. We were touring an old military fort. My sister & I had climbed up a spiral staircase in a tower that overlooked a large lawn. I was sitting on the window sill, just looking out at the empty lawn when suddenly I saw a scene that hadn't been there. If you've ever seen Gone With The Wind & remember the BBQ scene, you can imagine about what I was seeing. I hadn't seen GWTW yet & it wasn't exactly the same. Just the dress of the people was similar. Many of the men were in military outfits of various colors & ranks. The ladies all wore long elaborate dresses. Then suddenly, my sister said "what is going on down there?" & everything faded away. We didn't speak about it for years!

Many years ago, whilst visiting Vienna, and walking through the streets in the evening I stopped short when I heard (or thought I heard) a massive explosion of shattering glass around me. Looking around, I saw I must have imagined it, as everything was normal and nobody else had stopped in their tracks. I was in the old Jewish quarter and later wondered if what I'd heard was a sound from the kristallnacht of the late 1930s.

My family and I had a weird experience some time ago. We were travelling home by car. The road was very straight but quite undulating. There were flood-ways with depth markers at the low points in the road, it had been raining so the flood-ways had a foot or 2 of water. We had just crested a hill and were on the way down towards one of the flood-ways and there was a car coming towards us on the other side of the flood-way but was closer than us. I was surprised when the car didn't attempt to slow before hitting the water. There was a large spray of water as you'd expect but the car never came out of the water. My parents immediately looked at each other and my father asked mum if she had seen it, she said yes, both my brother and i also said confirmed what we had seen. We slowed when we got to the flood-way, there was no path or roadway the car could have taken, the water was still moving a little. There was no big hole in the road, the car had just simply disappeared.

Do you guys remember the movie Somewhere in Time? That’s a perfect example of a time slip. He fell in love with the portrait of the beautiful woman and willed himself into her timeline. The power of love!

Concerning the women who experienced a time slip at Versailles, there have been various dramatic incarnations of ‘The Adventure’ and a BBC/Masterpiece Theater presentation based on this incident. Because they wrote a book that was so definitive and detailed in explaining what they had seen, it makes it much easier for dramatists to adapt this fascinating tale.

My wife has had many, many lucid or "waking dreams" where she falls asleep and wakes up somewhere else. Not sleep walking, per se, but literally anywhere. One particular example was when we were driving in the New England area and she fell asleep in the car. She "woke up" to find herself in a small private jet coming in to land in a municipal airport in southern California. I was there too, and she remembered the name of the airport because the pilot mentioned it. She said it was a funny name, Shultz-Sonoma. We were apparently coming to see a property we were thinking of buying. People were waiting to meet us at the airfield. When she awoke back in the car, she recounted all this and I later wrote it down. Although she had never been to that part of California, she had described everything perfectly.
