Another day, another TikTok beef...j/k, it's extremely unlikely Chappell knows who I am. But I know who she is, and I have some thoughts on her recent foray into politics. Let's talk about it.

"Why do we care about what celebrities have to say when it comes to politics" like we haven't had 2 celebrity presidents already who changed the country for the worse. These people have money and influence.

The disagreement I have is that she was equating the two sides. There can be issues on both sides, and one side could also be more or less problematic. She never said they are one in the same. I don't think it's fair to claim that she left room misunderstanding when she has time and time again demonstrated what her values are. It seems like all of that flies out the window because she didn't expand on her initial statement. "There's issues on both sides" should not be a controversial statement no matter how you slice it, dare I say it's just a fact.

I'm a progressive, as is she. I decided that I would not "support" Harris when the DNC denied the Georgia delegate from Palestine the right to speak about her people being slaughtered by US made taxpayer funded weaponry. Cops got to speak. Billionaires got to speak. A family of a victim of Oct. 7th got to speak. Harris had the audacity to say in her keystone speech that "Palestinians have a right to dignity and respect" yet they refused to have the community represented at the democratic convention. This is supposed to be the political party of diversity and freedom and respect- so what the fuck happened...

Politicians need to earn their vote and certainly need to earn their endorsement. That was Chappell's point. The fact that this is a controversial point shows just how far the dem duopoly brainrot has gotten. She said from the beginning that she was voting, she's just not gonna endorse and put her art and project behind a candidate who enables genocide.

I'm still voting, but I've been calling my reps everyday urging them to support Sen. Sanders upcoming leg that would block aid to Israel. I will not campaign for Harris as I did with Biden in 2020. I'm going to remain highly critical of a candidate who barley utters a word about the 50, 000+ killed by Israel and by our weapons, while they going on long winded speeches about the hostages and bringing them home. You should be critical too. Because again, Politicians need to earn their vote. And if they are "our only choice" well maybe its time we get some new choices- bc we say this shit every fucking election cycle and in 2016 we got so close to finally breaking the endless cycle and yet he is even villanized for daring to be an alternative choice to the flawed establishment funded candidate bc he was "taking votes away from Hillary" (in reality research concludes the spoiler effect had very little impact on the outcome of the election).

Anyways all this to say I respect the hell out of Chappell for this. Bernie bros didn't cost 2016, Hillary cost herself 2016 so take this notion of "Celebs openly criticizing Kamala having on having an empty stance on Palestine will cost her the election." 

And man if yall felt offended or angered by what she said, maybe just block her name on twitter or something.The reaction mfs were having from hearing a lesbian drag queen simply say "neither side is endorsable" is wild. Don't feel obligated to continue listening to her music or commented on every single snippet PopBase shares abt her.

"shes got about one more good time to get up on this internet before the whole shit is up" are you referring to her saying she doesnt like her fans stalking her? because before this article came out where she says "theres problems on both sides", there was no other valid reason to be upset at Chappell, and if you believe setting boundaries with fans is inherently negative then i implore you to reevaluate and investigate your internal biases.

Saying "Trump bad" doesn't move the needle for the Midwest. Saying that both sides have problems but use critical thinking might get to the Trump leaning independent.

People need to understand there is a difference between criticizing and being hurtful, being hurtful/mean is calling her names where being critical is making points. She didn't have to endorse Harris but she did need to denounce Maga. Saying I am voting for Harris because I am fearful of what another Trump Presidency would do to my community wouldn't have been an endorsement but it would have drawn a line in the sand between the parties. There is no third party option and there will never be a party that can please everyone. She is a young woman who received a ton of fame in a short period and she needs a good PR person.

I've been turned off by Chappell for months. She has a pompous attitude and talks down to her audience. She's made careless statements in the media. Even comparing fame to having an abusive partner. She sounds like she's clueless about the election. In her initial statement it really sounded like she was encouraging people not to vote. Then she said she's voting for Kamala Harris in a really disrespectful way. This could have all been avoided if from the get go she said Im voting for Kamala Harris although I don't 100% fully agree with all the left policies. But instead she wants to be a smartass. Don't let her or anyone make you feel bad for pointing out what she did wrong. She shouldn't get a pass.
