I WISH SHE KEPT THE LYRICS LIKE THAT!! THAT IS SO GOOD

this line is somehow... sadder. it's like when you want to fix the relationship but the other person keeps telling you that there's nothing wrong and you just knew that they already gave up.

the fact he literally told me “you didn’t do anything wrong” after he left. so this hits so hard for me

This version feels more authentic to the emotions people typically experience during heartbreaks. There's always that moment where you believe you did something wrong, that there was something more you could have done to prevent it.

i wish she hadn’t changed the lyrics 😭 i loved that line sooo much, it’s just so reminiscent of that feeling where you blame yourself for everything, and you want there to be a reason for the breakup instead of just him being a jerk

I actually like this line more. It hits deeper

This line actually sounds waaay more mature than "I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me". It just sounds like something a high schooler would write.

i’m torn between both. they both sound amazing lol

Yall gotta understand, there is a difference between:
And I dont belive you when you say "I did nothing wrong."
VS
And I dont belive you when you say I did nothing wrong.

I feel like this version shows how the relationship was at fault from both sides when the released version shows how the relationship was at fault from his side, not her side

I actually like this version better. It feels more relatable, and it changes from, "You're an asshole!" To, "Clearly I did something wrong here, and I just want to know what I did to make you leave me."

The original lyrics hit harder and feel more authentic. It captures the heartbreak and self-blame that comes with a breakup.

This is definitely more authentic to heartbreak and a relationship than the line she has. It's essentially about being on the receiving end of "it't not you it's me" and the paranoia that comes with that. It will always feel like it had to be you in some way.

what i find really cool is that it could be interpreted in two different ways:
and i dont believe you when you say i did nothing wrong
and i dont believe you when you say, “i did nothing wrong”
