Everyone wants freedom but most people have no idea just how enslaved they have become to their computing devices and the proprietary software that controls those devices. The Free Software Movement aims to spread awareness of this issue and to advocate for the use of freedom-respecting software ("free software").

I see too many people fighting against social injustices and trying to make a difference in the world. Many of those people have chosen causes that, while noble causes, are not as wide-reaching as the Free Software Movement. So if you truly want to affect change in the world, join the fight as we free the software!

I am recent linux user I started out with pop os. Moved to elementary and finally moved to archlinux and im staying because of you. Mr dt, and this video you just posted didn't actually changed my mind because i believe in free software ever since i using a computer. I suggest for your future contents that you should start promoting free and open source alternatives even more so than usual because most of the packages installed on my system came from your recommendations. I use 0 non-free software. Everyone I know, I made use Linux. My Grandmother, my parents. I was looking for a new job in last 2 month and I refused one because using the Mac was mandatory. In my new job they use Windows/Mac mostly but I said I will have to stay on Linux. I did. I will.

I'm with Luke Smith on this. The battle is already as much won as it's going to be. That is to say, we won. You can do pretty much everything with free software that you can do on proprietary versions.

i talked 2 a friend 1ce about free software. He liked the idea, but when i told him that it means that one has to stop using microsoft products, he said to me, what for? its so troublesome! Many people have told me the same. In response, i say to them, i have never come across a compatibility issue i could not work around. My sister tells me, its bec you're a techie. Shes quite right, but i know many non-techies who taught me how 2 get started in finding ways around compatibility issues.

I don’t know maybe it’s where I live, but from what I’ve seen in human behavior these pasts weeks with the virus thing, most people seems enjoying being slaves.
Looks like freedom is dying everywhere, nearly no-one want to fight for it anymore.
