Thank you good sir! A great video with explanation and biblical word mixed in. I'm going to save this, because you are one of the few people on this platform that have been helpful on this topic. I've been feeling convicted for some time, but didnt have some of the words to really express it.

I remember i used to hate things that take my control/alter my mind, because back then, my mind was all i had. Now that I'm looking more to Jesus, he's shedding light on my weak points and where i can improve, despite what i used to think

I don't think we can throw around intoxication and sober with secular definitions.

Weed most definitely does not tempt me to turn my face from God. Just like how alcohol doesn't tempt everyone the same.

If I was around a friend that it tempted, I wouldnt do it! But it doesn't harm my relationship with Him. Frankly blaming anything other than yourself for your sin is pride. Sure avoid temptations you know you arent strong enough to deal with. But if your mind is still centered on God, centered on love, then theres literally nothing to fear.

I absolutely 100% agree, i have the exact same experience, as a guy who smoked for 8 years
Im not quite off it yet, im sober a couple weeks, but tje thing is when u really are in christ, u dont want ur mind to be intoxicated and weed transforms from pleasure to a thing that keeps u further away from god than u have to be

Edit: in the long run, sure maybe u have a great experiemce in 1 high, maybe in 2

It's vice versa for me my mind still be sober I only smoke weed but I cut back drastically down to atleast 3 blunts a day as I pray more the taste is leaving my mouth slowly but surely

As I’m sitting here after relapsing on weed and alcohol🥲 I find it hard to ask for help when I felt like the people around me couldn’t help. I know I need to ask god for help but it’s as if the devil is holding me back so strongly. Please pray for me guys. Here’s the thing with this. How many Christians do you know that love coffee? How many do you know that are on SSRIs? How many do you know that are overweight and eat fast food? The only difference between any of those substances and cannabis is that those are socially accepted. I believe Jesus couldn’t care less about what we find acceptable. This is my issue with the words of the Bible and taking them at face value. I believe that although what is in the Bible is true, our interpretation of many of it as humans is false and incorrect. I get where this guy is coming from but he needs to think a bit more before making such a blanketed statement on weed if he is going to use the “sober mind” reasoning
