And just for the discussion of me bashing his degree, I know a lot of therapist and some are great, but I don’t know any with the ego to say they are doctors, even with phd’s.

Getting a PhD isn’t extremely difficult if from a lower tier university and Dr Phil really just got it to push himself as a TV doctor, despite not being close to one.

Whenever one of the people he has on his show challenges him in any way, he gets defensive and tries to guilt them. He’s a blatant narcissist who feels justified in his awful takes because the people he has on are generally troubled people, so “surely we can’t take anything they say as valid”. I cannot stand him.

PhD is a doctorate…. MDs are a completely different thing. A psychologist is someone that studied psychology so has a PhD, a psychiatrist is someone that both studied psychology and went to med school so a MD. Both are still very valid, and anyone with a PhD in anything doesn’t matter if it’s math, teaching, business, ect is legal allowed to use the title dr.

psychologists with a PhD are called Dr. this isn't the problem with Dr. Phil. the problem is that his career prior to his show was not as a therapist treating clients. he worked for powerful law firms.

The Shining was terrible to this lady. She almost had to be committed. She adored Robin Williams. Steve Martin also treated her very well on the set of Roxanne. I highly recommend Roxanne
