How do people fall for this type of stuff is beyond me, it’s so easy to spot the red flags, not to mention if this person isn’t able to meet you or see you or FaceTime you within a couple of days then you have to know it’s a fake.

Catfishers can scam people who are really lonely and vulnerable. A friend of mine fell for a scammer even though we all warned her this guy could be a scammer. And she ended up giving him over 150k of her money to a bitcoin scam and then quickly found out he was fake. She fell for this because she was really lonely, has low self-esteem and is very insecure about herself This fake guy told her all the the things she has always wanted to hear from a guy. This scammer made her feel good about herself, made her feel wanted and loved. So, she fell for it. I felt so bad for her, but I also told her she should get therapy because she obviously has self-esteem issues for why she was so vulnerable to fall for this scammer and then blindly give him her life savings.
