I can definitely hear a kind of "dullness" in the old strings verses the crispness of the fresh strings, but honestly it's like the acoustic's version of bright vs. warm. If you want bright/crisp tone then slap some new strings on, and if you want a warm/full sound just play them in for a few weeks.

The old ones sounds better because they’ve been stretched more and it gives a more “vintage” sound, the new ones sounds more light and clean as they should, if you ask me I would definitely go for the old ones, I love the sound of them and they’re more flexible but I like to play with new ones as well that’s why I buy strings from different brands, I like to try new things (btw what strings do you use?)

The real thing is I like the old string but whenever I changed my strings into a new one, I always amazed to its crisp sound😀
