The pick gives a clean and clear sound

The attack is very different. Fingers has some kind of muffled sound, nails has some flexibility which muffle a bit the sound, and picks are made for it and so does not muffle.

The fingers are soft for a warm tone, the pick is for a sharp and brighter tone. I think the word id use for the fingernails is colorful just because its like a mix of the other two.

The *Pick* is more sharp sounding, and really bounces and emphasizes each string.

The *Finger* gives a rounder, and mellow type sound. Less sharp vibrations.

*Fingernails* is a mix between the two. Its sharp, bouncy, emphasizes each string played while maintaining somewhat of a round and soft tone to it.
