What is Inconel 600 per AMS 5665?

AMS 5665 is a specification for Inconel 600, or in generic form, alloy 600.
The UNS designation is N06600. Nominal composition is 74% Nickel, 15.5% Chromium, and 8% Iron. Typical applications include corrosion resistant components and parts that require oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 2000 deg F. Alloy 600 has excellent welding characteristics. Applicable material is in the form of Bars, Forgings, and Rings.Tensile strength requirements vary by product form and size. Yield strength of 30 ksi minimum and tensile strength of 80 ksi minimum would be typical.
