AMS 5540 is a specification for Inconel 600, or in generic form, alloy 600.
The UNS designation is N06600. Nominal composition is 74% Nickel, 15.5% Chromium, and 8% Iron. Typical applications include corrosion resistant components and parts that require oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 2000 deg F. Alloy 600 has excellent welding characteristics. Applicable material is in the form of Sheet, Strip, and Plate. Material is in the annealed condition. Yield strength 30 ksi minimum and tensile strength 80 ksi minimum for this specification.
